Other People's High School Year Books

There is something really interesting about looking at old yearbooks. I have two that I photographed and listed today from 1963 and 1965 (Dearborn High School, Michigan). Opening an old yearbook is like stepping into another time and place for a little while.

Vintage Easter Postcards, c. 1910s to 1920s

I'm having lots of fun today going through a big stack of vintage Easter ephemera. As well as Easter cards, I have some really beautiful postcards, most dated 1910s to 1920s. The illustrations are so lovely that I wanted to share them here. My favorite is the top card -- Art Deco illustration of a woman and a bunny rabbit peeking out a hat box. The woman reminds me a bit of the Vera Neville illustrations of Betsy from the Betsy-Tacy series of books. (The illustrator here is Gene Carr, and this is a hard to find card.) These will all be online in my store by later this evening.

Vintage Souvenir State Plates

These vintage states plates are lots of fun! They measure about 10.5" across and are made of a heavy vintage plastic. I love the pictorial imagery and the captions: Wonderful Wyoming and Colorful Colorado.

Rare Early 1900's Passenger Ship Valentine

Just had to share this picture -- probably the most unusual Valentine I've ever researched and listed. This is an early 1900's vintage passenger ship Valentine. It is the same vintage as the Titanic or the White Star Line, but there is no ship name listed. It opens up with a delicate honeycomb trim on the base of the card. I think it is really beautiful!

Nothing says love like a gun themed vintage Valentine!

From the cowboy and cowgirl collection ... a little children's die-cut Valentine featuring a gun in a holster. This is 1950's vintage.
