Just had to share this picture -- probably the most unusual Valentine I've ever researched and listed. This is an early 1900's vintage passenger ship Valentine. It is the same vintage as the Titanic or the White Star Line, but there is no ship name listed. It opens up with a delicate honeycomb trim on the base of the card. I think it is really beautiful!

Unusual Mechanical Valentine, c. 1910's - 1920's
Hi and a belated Happy New Year to my blog readers!
I'm scanning and listing ephemera the next few weeks, so should have some vintage cards to share with you. I absolutely love this vintage mechanical card. A little boy climbs a tree by means of a lever to the left side of card. He is reaching for a bird's nest in the top of the tree. Very, very sweet. I would date this as 1910's to 1920's.
