Friday Fave: History Detectives

My Friday Fave this week is History Detectives Special Investigations on PBS.  History Detectives has not aired in my area in at least a couple of summers, so it is wonderful to see it back again.  You can find air times in your area at the official website:  History Detectives.

History Detectives is an hour long show.  Each show focuses on a mysterious event in American history.  The detectives - Wes Cowan, Tukufu Zuberi, and Kalema Glover - delve into the events to learn unknown facts that will help to solve the mystery.

The case this week involved the disappearance of Big Band musician and band leader Glenn Miller, who disappeared on a flight across the English Channel during World War II.  It was absolutely fascinating.

Previous seasons of the show dealt with historical artifacts and objects.  This season is focusing more on bigger historical mysteries.

If you are not watching this series, I very highly recommend it!

Trish, this sounds like a series I would enjoy watching. I have never heard of it, but will go looking to see when it is on here in Toronto. I love mysteries and always look forward to finding new shows of this nature.

Sounds awesome, Trish. Like Barbara Kelly - something I would love watching. A bit more substance than so many shows. Thanks for sharing and opening up a door to explore. Will definitely look for it. HUGS <3

Thanks for the nice comments! I think you all would enjoy History Detectives. If you can find the episode that just aired about the mystery of Glenn Miller's disappearance, it is absolutely riveting television ... I highly recommend it!

I'm so glad GPB is airing this show again, and I am so relieved I can still see it here in the mountains. I wonder if that one co-host of the show they had the last time I watched, she wore very stylish red rimmed glasses and had a pixie cut, is still with them? I haven't seen her so far.

Bob, glad y'all get this in the mountains too! You are thinking of Gwen. I always liked her too. I have not seen her this season.

Gwen, yes that was her name. Thanks for the reminder. I always liked her segments the best. With this being back on the GPB schedule all I can do now is hope and pray that they'll start carrying Austin City Limits again. I dearly miss watching that show every Saturday night when I lived in Atlanta.

Bob, yes, Austin City Limits is a great show. Is it available to watch online, I wonder? (I need to look this up as well.)
