Book Review - 365 Pocket Morning Prayers

Book Synopsis
Each morning when you arise, take a moment to talk with God about the day ahead. Ask Him to prepare your heart so that you can be ready to face any challenge that comes your way. 365 Pocket Morning Prayers can guide this time of life-changing conversation and help you express your needs and concerns to God. Don’t worry about what the day will bring. Instead, release your troubles and concerns into God’s care by reading and meditating on the prayers featured in 365 Pocket Morning Prayers. Begin your day in joyful anticipation, trusting that God is in control of your life and wants only the best for you.

My Review
365 Pocket Morning Prayers is a lovely and unique devotional book.  It is divided into 365 days.  Each day begins with the topic of the daily prayer, a summary of the prayer, the prayer, and then a relevant Bible verse.

The prayers are sensitively written, and the Bible passages chosen for each day are perfect for each topic.  (They are NLT, New Living Translation.)

I particularly like the topical index in the back of this book.  It allows you to look for prayers on any topic, and read a prayer relevant for your thoughts and the day ahead.  A few sample topics include: aging, anger, annoyance, appearances, asking for help, awakening, balance, benediction, change, children, comforting others, contentment, decisions, and more.

The book is beautifully designed, a compact 4" x 6" with a faux-leather cover in pale blue.  The cover design of palm tree and birds is very peaceful and appealing.

I found 365 Pocket Morning Prayers both uplifting and comforting, and will keep it on my bedside bookshelf to turn to again and again.  I recommend it very highly.

I received a copy of this book from Tyndale House Publishers in exchange for an honest review.
