New Easter Cards
While vintage cards are still my first paper love, I occasionally find some really special new cards to add to my store. These boutique style Easter cards are so sweet (and I have more designs coming soon)! They would be so cute to send, gift, or frame. New Easter Cards at Birdhouse Books

Dressed Animal Valentines
Dressed animal Valentines feature cute animals (usually cats, dogs, or bears) dressed in clothes. They are so nostalgic and sweet, and are a unique collecting category -- also of interest to cat collectors, dog collectors, etc. These little dressed cat Valentines are way too sweet not to share! The first card pictured (cat in blue bonnet) is 1920's vintage. The second card (cat in beanie cap and checked overalls) is 1930's - 1940's vintage. The colors in the second card are a giveaway to dating the card, as the vivid primary colors are indicative of cards from that time period. Here's a link to dressed animal cards in my store -- lots of photos there!

Item of the Day: Ukulele Vintage Valentine 1920's
This little card is too cute not to share! With the Ukulele theme and the little boy's sailor suit outfit, I would date this as 1920's vintage. Uke music was very popular during this period -- and I don't think I've had a Ukulele themed card in my store before! It's very cute, and equally unique. Item of the Day: Vintage Donald Duck Holgate Puzzle
Baby boomer vintage toys don't get cuter than this! This wooden frame tray puzzle for a small child was made by the Holgate toy company. I love vintage Holgate toys. It's an interesting company, founded in 1929, with many toys designed by Jarvis Rockwell, the brother of artist Norman Rockwell. This sweet puzzle features the Walt Disney character Donald Duck. The puzzle has 12 pieces, is perfect for a preschool age child, and would look so cute on display! Donald Duck puzzle at Birdhouse Books

My favorite of the day! This adorable little 1958 Whitman Tell-A-Tale book has the sweetest illustrations by Marjorie Hartwell. So cute - and the cute little chick is perfect for Spring time! Chicken Little at Birdhouse Books
